Future Museums
Client: Adobe Creative Residency
In October 2020, I was chosen as a recipient of an Adobe Community Residency Fund Grant. For my project, I used the beta version of Illustrator for the iPad to make my piece, which needed to be compatible across Adobe social media platforms. At the time, I was still a Designer at the American Museum of Natural History. I was frustrated and sad seeing so many colleagues and financially vulnerable staff losing their jobs to the pandemic. Inspired by the appreciation for the arts across social media at the beginning of the U.S. quarantine, I created a museum of the future in the hope that we can appreciate cultural institutions in person once again.
I decided to use the opportunity to turn my final piece into a risograph where all the proceeds were donated to the Museum Workers Relief Fund organized by Museum Workers Speak. The official GoFundMe closed in December after raising $100,000 in donations.
