The theme revolved around local NJ wildlife, which I visualized through local flora and a hint of some of the fauna found in the state through just their eyes. The mural was painted across a series of recycled YETI cooler lids. This included things like early placements for images and content, typography studies, infographics, photo research, and 3D designs. Under tight budget and time constraints, the challenge became creating a modular system for three different scents across a line of 10+ products. At the commencement of the project, neither the scents, templates, nor printing methods had been decided. Production Strategy Most of the products required sticker labels for cost efficiency. The client requested labels that would match compliment the color of amber bottles but have distinguished pop-y colors like the prototype. With a limited budget, I developed a system where repeated verbiage across different scents could be confined to one plate. The second was a regional theme and was inspired by my one of my favorite part of living in NYC: birdwatching in Central Park during the Great Migration. It’s rare for an institution to reflect on unsavory pasts and address the complex legacies of American heroes like Roosevelt, so I'm proud to have played a part in creating this important show. The theme of my concept was to layer clusters of information upon fragments of the past. I developed a bold, graphic style to visually separate contemporary views from pieces of history. I’m particularly glad that through my research, I was able to bring Carlotta Cardana’s Red Road photography project into the exhibit.
